Privacy policy

This site has no accounts, no forms, no analytics and no advertising, so there is very little to say. What there is, is below in full.

Who is responsible

Wagering Terms is published by Abhinav Vasudevan, who is the data controller for the limited processing described here. Questions and requests go to hey@organicgrowth.company.

The short version

  • No accounts, logins, contact forms, newsletters or comment sections.
  • No cookies are set by this site. See the cookie policy.
  • No analytics, tracking pixels, session recording or advertising technology.
  • Nothing you read here is profiled, sold, shared or used to target you.

What is processed, and why

Server and delivery logs

The site is served as static files by a hosting and content-delivery provider. Like every web host, it processes technical request data — IP address, timestamp, the URL requested, the response status, the browser's user agent — in order to deliver pages, block abuse and keep the service up. This is standard infrastructure logging under the provider's own retention rules, it is not combined with anything else, it is not used to build a profile, and it is not read for marketing. The lawful basis is legitimate interests in operating and securing the site.

Fonts loaded from Google

Page typography is loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore requests font files from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address and user agent as part of that request. This is the one third party your browser contacts when you open a page here. It sets no cookie for the request, and nothing about what you read is sent. Google's handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy.

Search Console

A verification tag connects the site to Google Search Console, which reports aggregate, anonymised statistics about how pages appear in search results — queries, impressions, clicks. It identifies no individual and sets nothing on your device.

Email you send

If you write to the address above, your message and email address are processed in order to reply to you, and are kept only as long as the correspondence is useful. Corrections and privacy requests are handled on that basis. Please do not send sensitive personal information, and never send gambling account numbers, passwords or payment details — they are not needed and cannot be used here.

Theme preference

Choosing light or dark mode stores a single value in your browser's local storage. It is not a cookie, it is never transmitted anywhere, it identifies nothing, and clearing site data removes it.

What is never done

  • No selling, renting or sharing of personal data with anyone, for any purpose.
  • No behavioural advertising, retargeting or audience building.
  • No profiling and no automated decision-making.
  • No data collection from anyone known to be under 18.

This matters more than usual in a gambling context. An interest in gambling terminology is sensitive by implication, and the deliberate design of this site is that no record of your reading exists to be misused.

International transfers

The hosting provider and Google operate globally, so the technical data described above may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, under those providers' own safeguards for international transfers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to or port your personal data, and to withdraw consent. In practice there is usually nothing to hand over or delete, because no identifiable record of your visit is kept. Where a request concerns correspondence you sent, write to hey@organicgrowth.company and it will be actioned.

If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with how a request was handled, you may complain to your data protection authority — the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK. If you are a California resident, no personal information is sold or shared for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.

Children

The site is written for adults and is not directed at children. No data is knowingly collected from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent personal information to the address above, write and it will be deleted.

If this changes

Adding analytics, advertising or any other third-party technology would change this policy. If that happens, this page will be updated and dated before the technology goes live, and where consent is required it will be asked for first through a consent banner rather than assumed.
