In short
The betting window is the short period in a live casino round during which bets can be placed, typically 10 to 20 seconds. Once it closes, no further bets are accepted for that round.
Every live casino round has a fixed betting window, counted down on screen. When it reaches zero, betting closes and the round proceeds.
Typical durations
| Game | Window |
|---|---|
| Live roulette | 15–25 seconds |
| Speed roulette | 10–15 seconds |
| Live blackjack | 12–15 seconds |
| Baccarat | 12–15 seconds |
| Speed baccarat | 8–10 seconds |
| Game shows | 15–20 seconds |
Speed variants exist specifically to increase rounds per hour, which increases turnover and therefore expected loss at the same stake. A speed roulette table running 70 spins an hour costs roughly 40% more per hour than a standard table at 50.
Practical consequences
Connection matters. A dropout during the window means a missed round. Bets already accepted stand and settle normally whether or not you are watching.
Rebet and double buttons exist because the window is short. They repeat your previous bet in one click, which is convenient and also makes it easy to continue without a deliberate decision each round.
Late bets are rejected, not settled at a different price. Unlike in-play sports betting, there is no acceptance delay or repricing, the bet either lands before the timer or it does not.
Full tables
Live blackjack tables have a fixed number of seats. If all are taken you can either wait or use Bet Behind, placing a wager on another player’s hand.
Bet Behind carries the same house edge as playing directly, with one significant difference: you have no control over the decisions. If the player you are backing deviates from basic strategy, your expected return falls with theirs.
Some tables offer unlimited seats by dealing a common hand to all players, with individual decisions applied to each, which removes the problem entirely.
Common questions
How long do I have to place a live casino bet?
Typically 15 to 25 seconds on standard roulette, and 8 to 15 seconds on speed variants. When the timer reaches zero, betting closes and late bets are rejected rather than repriced.
Does a speed table cost more?
Yes. A speed roulette table running 70 spins an hour costs roughly 40% more per hour than a standard table at 50, because the house edge is charged per round rather than per hour.
